Audition Information

Seeking LOCAL actors of all ethnicities for the heartfelt, funny, and music-filled true story of friendship at the center of ALWAYS… PATSY CLINE. . This is an Equity LOA production, but non-Equity actors will be considered.

Before her voice became legendary, Patsy Cline formed an unexpected bond with a devoted Texas fan, Louise Seger, after a chance meeting in a honky-tonk. What began as admiration grew into a lasting friendship built on letters, laughter, and a shared love of country music. Featuring over two dozen of Patsy Cline’s greatest hits, including “Crazy,” “Walkin’ After Midnight,” and “I Fall to Pieces,” this uplifting musical celebrates loyalty, resilience, and the enduring power of one unforgettable voice.

Preparation for In-Person and Video Submissions:

Please prepare the following:

  • Patsy Cline: A 60-second cut of a Patsy Cline song (or similar classic country style) showcasing vocal strength and storytelling.
  • Louise Seger: A 30–60 second monologue (may be from the show) highlighting warmth, humor, and strong character work.

Role Breakdown

All ethnicities are encourage to audition for both roles. Cast members do not have to be the actual ages of the characters in the production, but must be able to look age-appropriate and act accordingly.

PATSY CLINE – Female-presenting, 20s–30s. A gifted vocalist with a rich, powerful mezzo-soprano/alto belt and strong mix; must comfortably carry the score and embody Patsy’s warmth, wit, and quiet strength. Captures the essence and vocal style of the iconic country star without impersonation. Confident, charismatic, grounded, with emotional depth and ease in storytelling through song.

LOUISE SEGER – Female-presenting, 30s–50s. Strong actor with excellent comic timing and dramatic range. Big-hearted, brash, and charmingly direct; serves as narrator and emotional anchor of the piece. Must sustain high energy, connect easily with an audience, and create a deeply authentic portrayal of a devoted fan whose friendship changes both women’s lives. Strong Texas accent required. Singing ability helpful but role is primarily text-driven.
