The 20th Annual Exploring the Light Photo Show will be from March 30, 2022 - June 3, 2022. The show is presented by the Lone Tree Arts Commission and the Lone Tree Photo Club, with support from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). Best of Show will run from June 8, 2022 - October 14, 2022.

Jurying and Awards

Individual images submitted via CaFE TM are juried by a blind jury review process. Invited images are juried for awards based on final presentation of artwork including the image quality, content, frame, mat, and tile.  Photographer identification will be hidden from view when jurying.  Total cash awards are estimated at $3,350.  Best of Show as well as first and second place winners in each category will be awarded gallery space for several weeks after the show at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Awards include first, second, and third place in each category, along with Best of Show and People's Choice.  
 

Entry and Fees

Photographers must apply via CaFE TM by the entry deadline of Thursday, February 24th, 2022. Up to 3 entries may be submitted by an individual.  A non-refundable $35 entry fee is required.  Fees may be paid via credit card on CaFE TM or check made payable to the City of Lone Tree and mailed to: Lone Tree Arts Center, c/o Photo Show, 10075 Commons Street, Lone Tree, CO. 80124. 

 

2022 Juror

Dawn Wilson is an award-winning, professional nature photographer specializing in photographing the wildlife of high latitudes and high altitudes of the Rocky Mountains and Alaska. Wildlife photography isn’t just about pretty portrait photos, but also includes images that tell the story about where they live, how they live and what affects their habitat. Ms. Wilson’s writing and photography have been published in regional and national magazines, including Outdoor Photographer, MotorHome magazine, Colorado Outdoors, Colorado Life, a weekly column in Estes Park News, and many more. She serves as President for the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA), was recognized as a Top Ten Female Nature Photographer to Watch by Wild Planet Photo Magazine, and frequently presents to camera clubs, nature organizations and youth groups about photography, the outdoors, travel and business strategy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and an MBA in Marketing but has also studied computer graphics, photography, biology and public relations over the years. She also spent 15 months on the road in an RV with two dogs, two cats and one boyfriend she picked up along the way to photograph some of the most beautiful locations, events and wildlife in the U.S.
 

Exploring the Light - 2022 Photo Show Book for Purchase 

With photographer’s permission, the Lone Tree Photo Club will compose a book with accepted entries representing Exploring the Light 2022. Accepted images will be printed with the photographer’s name and information about the image such as location, camera and the story behind the photo. Exploring the Light will be available for viewing and purchase online after the close of the show.
