Denver Concert Band Presents Young Artist Concert

About the event

Come enjoy the Band in a program of music selections that will ebb and flow with the theme of water. Each Spring the Denver Concert Band invites local high school band students to compete for our annual Young Artist Award. The selected winner receives a scholarship, and will perform a solo piece with the band. Many past recipients have gone on to successful careers in music, playing in elite orchestras throughout the country, including our own Colorado Symphony.

A community band of 90 volunteer musicians, the Denver Concert Band (DCB) performs concerts year-round in the Denver Metro Area and throughout Colorado. Known for their uniquely sonorous bass, powerful brass, sparkling woodwinds and dynamic percussion, their concert repertoire has something for everyone. The DCB has performed in Europe and at several music conventions as well as neighboring states. Within the DCB is a group called the Show and Tell Band, (SATB) that performs throughout the school year in schools, senior living communities, and a variety of other events. The principal focus of the SATB is to educate people from kindergarten age to those who are kids at heart, about band instruments and music. The DCB is thrilled to be returning to the Lone Tree Arts Center for their formal concerts again this year, and they look forward to performing exciting concerts for their patrons. Information about the Denver Concert Band can be found on their website.
