About the event
For over 30 years, Gobs O’Phun has brought the warmth of an Irish family living room to the stage. Brothers-in-law Denis Sullivan and Martin Lambuth perform traditional Irish and Scottish folksongs accompanied by guitar, bodhrán and harmonica. The term “gob” is slang in the Celtic isles for your mouth, appropriate for a band that sings storytelling songs. And the stories have universal appeal – love, life, triumph and a bit of mischief – themes any cultural background can appreciate. Threaded together with historical footnotes and a healthy dose of humorous banter, the Gobs leave audiences with a genuine sense of good cheer.
