About the event

This audition workshop is designed to answer the questions you have about auditioning from what to wear/not wear, selecting audition material (monologues & songs), how to prepare, the mindset to set you up for optimal success, and what the auditors are thinking when you come into the room.  Submitting questions in advance would be ideal and there will be time for questions during a designated time.

This workshop is designed for those 18 years and older.

About the facilitator: Betty Hart

Betty Hart is a director, actor, facilitator, leader, speaker, and woman of faith whose mission is to help create space for necessary conversations. Through acting, directing, and facilitating, Betty strives to be a change agent and a force for positivity, creativity, and collaboration.

Betty moved to Colorado in August 2013 and has directed at the Denver Center Garner Galleria, Fine Arts Center at Colorado College, Creede Repertory Theatre, Aurora Fox Arts Center, Phamaly Theatre Company, Town Hall Arts Center, Vintage Theatre, Benchmark Theatre, Metro State University, CU Boulder, University of Northern Colorado, and Local Theater Company where she became a co-Artistic Director in 2022.  This February, she assistant directed David Byrne’s Theatre of the Mind in Chicago for the Goodman Theatre. She also assistant directed this piece for the Denver Center’s Off-Center in 2022.

Betty directs new work, musicals, classics, and work that many consider challenging and heart centered. Betty is a member of Actor’s Equity Association and is the President of the Colorado Theatre Guild. She builds community in the rooms where she directs with performers, designers, and stage management.  She’ll be directing Feeding Beatrice for the Aurora Fox this fall.
