About the event
Come on a journey to the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. We’ll visit the three ancient cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, which were once independent states ruled by the Malla kings from the 12th to the 18th centuries. Through slides and videos, we’ll stroll through the medieval squares with their temples and stupas. We’ll visit the village of Bodhnath with its incredible complex anchored by the largest stupa in Asia. We’ll join with monks and devotees during their daily kora (a ritualistic circular walk around the stupa). We’ll even introduce you to the Kumari Devi, a living goddess, worshipped in Kathmandu. You are sure to find Nepal irresistible and mystical!
