Symphony of the Rockies Presents: America at 250

7:30pm

About the event

Join Symphony of the Rockies as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday and honor the veterans whose service has shaped our nation.

The evening’s centerpiece is Peter Boyer’s acclaimed Rhapsody in Red, White & Blue, performed by internationally celebrated pianist Jeffrey Biegel. Commissioned by Biegel as a companion to Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, this vibrant and uplifting work blends the energy of American popular music with the brilliance of the symphony orchestra, creating a thrilling celebration of the American spirit.

We are honored to welcome Brigadier General Kristin Goodwin, USAF (Ret.), as our special guest emcee. A decorated B-2 Stealth Bomber pilot and pioneering military leader, General Goodwin made history as the first woman in the U.S. Air Force to command a Bomb Wing. With more than 3,000 flight hours and a distinguished career spanning combat operations, strategic leadership, and the development of the U.S. Space Force, she brings an extraordinary perspective on service, courage, and leadership to this milestone celebration.

The celebration extends beyond the concert hall! Before the performance, guests are invited to explore a special lobby exhibition presented by the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame, highlighting remarkable Colorado women whose military service, leadership, and achievements have helped shape our nation’s history. Their stories offer a powerful tribute to the courage and contributions of women in uniform.

The program also features stirring patriotic favorites, powerful orchestral works, and a special musical salute honoring each branch of the United States Armed Forces. Whether reflecting on those who have served or celebrating the ideals that unite us, this unforgettable evening offers an opportunity to come together through the power of live music.
Join us as we honor our veterans, celebrate the remarkable individuals who have served our country, and commemorate 250 years of American history.
