The Lone Tree Arts Commission is seeking submissions from Colorado artists or artist groups for their 2022 utility wrap program.
Each year the Lone Tree Arts Commission seeks to beautify the many traffic signal and utility boxes placed throughout the city through the selection of original designs from area artists. The selected designs will be printed on vinyl and will cover the box. A third-party design fabricator will be used to print the vinyl wraps and will be installed by the same group. Deadline to apply is November 4, 2022.
Artists are encouraged to steer away from common iconography that is already heavily used in the City of Lone Tree and explore original avenues. Submitted designs must be original works of the artist or group and in compliance with all existing copyright laws. Because of the public nature, artwork may not contain advertising, religious art, sexual, violent or other content unsuitable for all ages and cannot convey political partisanship.
Work can be in any medium as long as it can be translated into a digital file, a pdf in vector format, 300 dpi. The fabricator does not have the ability to scan or convert any physical paintings/artwork to digital. Each artist or group can submit up to 3 original works for consideration. The chosen designs will engage all sides of the box.
The Lone Tree Arts Commission will choose 2 designs for the 2022 installation. All work should be finalized artwork, not conceptual. Designs will be selected in November 2022 and artist payments issued in December 2022 upon delivery of the final design files. Installation timeline depends on the third-party vendor to print/install the wraps.
Each selected design will be awarded $500.
