Recognized as one of the world's great ensembles, the Takács Quartet plays with a unique blend of drama, warmth and humor, combining four distinct musical personalities to bring fresh insights to the string quartet repertoire. For their first performance at LTAC, the noted quartet will play Haydn Quartet op. 74 No. 3, Shostakovich Quartet No. 3, and Dvorak Quartet op. 105, each unique and seldom-performed selections that will resonate beautifully in the Main Stage Theater.

LTAC is thrilled to welcome the Takács Quartet, who call Colorado home, as in this season alone the highly-sought-after group will perform at Carnegie Hall, Stanford, the University of Richmond, Spivey Hall in Atlanta, and the University of Florida in addition to Santiago, Chile,  Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The group also will perform their annual series at Wigmore Hall in London and other European engagements include performances in Oslo, Amsterdam, Budapest, Hamburg, Hannover, Brussels, Bilbao and a concert at the Schubertiade in Hohenems, Austria. An exciting highlight of their 2015-16 tour is performing Philip Roth’s “Everyman” program with Meryl Streep at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
