“One of Denver’s foremost choirs… the full-bodied sound of the choir was stunning.” —The Scen3

An Arts Center tradition, Kantorei returns for their annual holiday concert. Kantorei, or singers, formed in 1997 under the leadership of six friends who decided to form a choir capable of singing a broad range of a cappella choral music. Now in its 23rd full season of performing, the group has expanded into an auditioned ensemble of more than 50 volunteer singers under the direction of Artistic Director Joel M. Rinsema. This year's performance celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the release of Kantorei's popular holiday CD, little tree, by reprising many of the selections on the recording, including its namesake by Eric Whitacre. Kantorei will also remember the late, great American vocal jazz composer and arranger, Phil Mattson with some holiday favorites. Finally, the Appalachian Mountains come to the Rockies in a delightful suite by Malcolm Dalglish for choir and hammered dulcimer.
